Greenstar Signs Three Year Sponsorship Deal Supporting Wicklow Art - 12.07.05
€5,000 for Winner of the Greenstar Open Exhibition 2005
Greenstar, provider of domestic collection and recycling services to householders in North Wicklow, today (Monday 23rd May) announced its sponsorship of a unique art exhibition in the Mermaid Arts Centre, Co. Wicklow for the next three years. The Greenstar Open Exhibition will showcase a wide range of local art and highlight the array of talented artists from the Wicklow area. The exhibition will run from 4th June – 9th July in the Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray.
This is the first year of the three year Greenstar sponsorship which will offer one lucky artist the chance to win a cash prize of €5,000. The Greenstar Award will be presented to the overall winner of the exhibition at the opening ceremony on Saturday 4th June. Both established and emerging artists will demonstrate their talent in the form of sculpture, print, video, photography, painting and drawings.

This is the fourth year of the exhibition and many artists have participated in the Mermaid Open over the last three years. The Greenstar Award will be made at the selector’s discretion; this year’s selector is famous artist, Bob Lynn. The Mermaid Arts Centre looks forward to a year of outstanding talent and success from some of Wicklow’s best artists.
