Greenstar to expand its operations in Cork
Domestic waste services to be available to an additional 50,000 households
Greenstar, Ireland's leading waste management company, has today (4 June 2007) announced the expansion of its domestic waste and recycling operations in Cork in an investment worth €2 million.
From Monday 18 June, an additional 50,000 households throughout Cork city suburbs and Midleton will be able to avail of Greenstar's service. This includes the area's only dedicated free monthly glass collection, 50% more recycling collections than Cork City or County Council provide and at a cost of up to 20% less.
Greenstar commenced its domestic service in Cork city centre in February this year and has already signed up 2,000 customers. Named 2006 Large Recycler of the Year by Repak, Greenstar has provided waste services to Cork businesses for over 10 years from its Sarsfield Court facility and intends to expand its domestic services throughout Cork county by the end of the year.

The new areas in Cork where Greenstar's service will be available include:
- Cork South City (Douglas, Rochestown)
- Ballincollig, Ovens
- Carrigaline, Crosshaven, Passage West
- Blarney, Grenagh
- Carrigtwohill
- Midleton, Cloyne
