General Manager (Landfill) Galway

Context:
The management of a large scale EPA licensed residual landfill and its operating team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Day to day management of the landfill and landfill operations team
- Budgetary and cost control
- Procurement
- A high standard of regulatory compliance including waste licence and planning permission compliance
- Void Management
- Relationship management with neighbours, adjoining landowners, EPA, Local Authority, customers and other key stakeholders
- Research and provision of technical solutions to landfill operational issues
- Training, Health & Safety needs and Information briefing of landfill operational team
- Assessment of market opportunities within the scope of the waste licence and planning permission conditions
- Liaison with landfill development managers in relation to ongoing development at the site.
- Supervision of on-site development works
- Maintaining a continued awareness and knowledge of landfill engineering technical developments and technology including BAT
- Maintenance of an appropriate document control system for the purpose of EPA and Local Authority auditing.
- Routine reporting to GM Landfill Dvt & Operations
Qualifications / Experience:
Technical qualification in Engineering or Science, preferably to degree level. At least 10 years post graduate experience including 3 years experience in the management of waste facilities, preferably landfills.
